East of Eden - A Novel Study
Hi! Class is in session.
This live lecture-style class will be a novel study of John Steinbeck’s East of Eden.
There will be six classes, each one hour in length. I will be your instructor.
Whether you read East of Eden or this is your first experience, we will be doing a deep dive. I will be reading aloud, guiding you through the annotation process, and deepening your critical thinking.
You will receive a reading log prior to the start of class one.
After each class, you will receive additional materials and assigned reading - should you choose to use them - questions, vocabulary extensions, writing prompts, and further annotation suggestions and guidance.
After we have read this novel, I plan to watch East of Eden and debrief with you - this is going to be fun!

annotation tabs (You will need five different colors. I’m looking for new tabs and will let you know which colors and where to find them prior to class. However, feel free to use whatever your choose)

Will class be recorded? No
What if I can’t attend one of the scheduled classes? That’s okay. You can still participate. It’s totally up to you. Regardless, you will receive all of the materials via email after each scheduled class.
Where and when will the Zoom link be sent? You will receive a Zoom link at least 48 hours prior to class at the email address you provided on my site. Please check your spam folder and email with any issues at least 24 hours prior to class.
